How to Support Us

Green Heart Collective is not a charity and therefore does not accept charitable donations. However, we are looking to form a collective of like-minded individuals in the North East and across the whole of the UK, committed to making a difference in the world. Here are five ways in which you can support our work.

The best way to support us is to buy from us! If you’re not used to buying preloved items online, then read our helpful Guide to Buying Preloved. Changing your consumer habits of a lifetime is hard, but we can do hard things. Creating a more sustainable and circular model of consumerism will make a world of difference but takes a community of like-minded people to build.

We’d love to keep you up to date with how things are going and highlight some of the exciting initiatives across the UK involved in recycling, upcycling, reworking and re-using. You can sign up to our newsletter by giving us your email address here. You can unsubscribe at any time using the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any Green Heart Collective email.

We’d love to hear from you too! Tell us what you’re up to, where and when you’re wearing our clothes or using our products, great tips for care and repair…anything you think might be of interest to us. Simply email us at

Green Heart Collective is a new social enterprise initiative in the North East of England, just starting out and we need you to spread the word! If you like what we’re doing, then please make sure you tell people about it. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and reshare some of our posts.

The sustainability of our business depends on ordinary people like you and us changing the way we shop and embracing a more circular consumer model. If you believe this is the way forward to preserve life on our planet for future generations, then please join the collective in this mission and encourage others to join too.

If you live in or near Gateshead, we would love to receive donations of clothes, books. We do not accept donations of food or electrical items. We may on occasions accept donations of small furniture. CHECK our list of what we items we accept.

You can drop off your donations at 231-233 High Street, Gateshead, NE8 1AS during our opening hours 10am-5pm Tuesday-Friday and 10am-4pm on Saturdays. Please make sure they are clean, in working order and undamaged, where possible.

If you are unable to come at those times or have any further questions about donations, then please email us at

GREEN HEART is looking for volunteers in its preloved shop on Gateshead High Street and behind the scenes.
GREEN HEART sells preloved items in an attractive environment to encourage customers to buy nothing new with the aim of reducing waste to landfill.
Each volunteer would be expected to commit to at least one shift of 3 hours a week, either from 10-1pm or 1:30-4:30pm.
The shop work entails keeping the shop well stocked and serving customers and the behind the scenes work involves sorting, steaming, tagging and pricing items. The team at GREEN HEART is small and welcoming.
Each volunteer would receive travel expenses for public transport and staff discount in store.
Volunteering at GREEN HEART is great for growing confidence, improving language skills, developing workplace skills and feeling part of a team committed to making a difference.
If interested please get in touch with us. Email us with the subject line "VOLUNTEERS" to:
